Ramen DANBO Wimbledon: Authentic Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen in London

As a frequent visitor to Japan, I can safely say this is as close to an authentic Japanese Ramen restaurant as you will get in the U.K. Amazing atmosphere with friendly Japanese staff, all shouting the orders in Japanese just like in Japan. Sapporo draft beer was great, and the Tonkotsu Ramen was amazing I really enjoyed it! Throughly recommend, and will definitely come back.

Ramen Danbo has finally opened its first branch in the UK! I tried it before in Okinawa, and while the broth here tastes very similar to what you get in Japan, one noticeable difference is that they use much less spring onion compared to the Okinawa branch. The soup is flavorful and served piping hot, and the noodles are excellent. The soft-boiled egg was a little overcooked, and the chashu was too soft — it fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Hopefully these can be improved in the future, but the broth and noodles definitely stand out. Since it’s newly opened, most of the staff are Japanese. They were very polite, friendly, and always smiling. I hope they can maintain this level of service over time. We finished our meal in about 25 minutes, which was very convenient. The atmosphere is pleasant and efficient, and I’m really happy to see more dining options in Wimbledon. Will definitely come back again.

Wow. Just wow. Tired and defeated from work, this place genuinely healed something inside of me. The pork broth was incredible, complex, smooth, delicious… the noodles were fresh with that perfect chew, accompaniments were well thought out and complemented the dish perfectly, and the gyoza were just insane. I’m no ramen connoisseur, but this was the best ramen of my life so far. All delivered by a kind, attentive and caring wait staff and kitchen. I guarantee I’ll be back - just as much as I can. Go. Trust me.
